Great news from Arizona!

I spoke with Dr. Haddix and Gemma Colpritt last night.  The team in Arizona is doing great things, working hard and very happy with their experience.  The team is being well taken care of by the Experience Mission Team leaders.  Meals have been very good and served in an old army surplus tent.  The temperature has been HOT.  Yes, it is a dry heat, but hot nonetheless!  All have stayed well hydrated and are doing just fine.

The team is staying in a church with no plumbing or running water. (There are outhouses.) The church does have electricity, however, to charge their tools and cell phones.  There is no signal, usually, for cell phones or internet,  so communication with the "outside world" via technology is dicey.  Jim said "This site is more Honduras than Honduras, and more Eastport than Eastport!"

The project list has included tiling a kitchen floor, painting the exterior of part of the church, building stairs at the church, leveling the dirt basement floor at the church and removing rock to prepare for cement placement, building a deck at the church . . . . As usual, they are hoping to finish what they started, and, as usual, know that there is so much more to do. The majority of the work has been on site at the church (basically rebuilding the church in some ways) but a few team members have been off-site as well.  Ken Colpritt has been off-site sheet-rocking walls in a home about 40 minutes away.

The last work day is today (June 27th), so the team will be finishing as much as they can today and are preparing to leave tomorrow.

They were able to watch a spectacular sunset over a deep canyon, which was breathtaking.

We do not have access to pictures due to the poor connection but will see many when the team returns.

The team has all worked very hard--and very well together--and has done great things.  They are God's hands and feet and are blessed to have shared their talents, accomplished so much in a short period of time and to have experienced this time with the people of the Navajo nation and each other.
We pray for continued success and safe travels!

Tomorrow they are off to do some sight seeing (the Grand Canyon) and are due to arrive in Bangor at the BIA on Monday July 1st mid-AM.
