Slight delay for the Guatemala team

The Guatemala team is returning via American Airlines flight #1284 from Miami.
They are on the plane but "left the gate" at 8:36 rather than 7:35PM.  They are now in the air.  There have been many delays and cancellations today due to weather in the US.

The estimated time of arrival in Boston is 11:37.  If that is accurate, I think they will arrive no earlier than 4:00 or 4:15.  (I don't know how long it takes to get 55 tired people off the plane, get baggage, load the bus, etc . . . .I think the bus ride itself may not take as long as it does for any of us to drive. :-) )

I will keep checking and post something when I hear from Renee . . . .

So, it may still be early, but maybe about the same time as sunrise?!!!

Revised travel information for the AZ team

Our team in Arizona is now at Canyon DeChelle.  The Colpritt family has moved on to more family time in CA.

The rest of the team will leave Phoenix on Sunday night (6/30/13) at 11:25 PM and will fly to Detroit.

The flight from Detroit to Bangor is Delta #6206 and will arrive at 12:00 noon on Monday.

Please note that this is different information than was previously published!

Pray for safe travels as the team hopefully leaves the 100+ degree temperatures behind . . . . and perhaps brings us some sun!

News from day 5 in Guatemala

Here is a message from Renee that I missed from Day 5 (6/27/13):
(Sorry that it is out of order!)

We are closing in on the completion of our projects. There has been a lot of stabilizing of the homes with extra supports today. Roofs are all on, walls are all up, and two of the homes are completely painted. Doors and windows are the final touches that need to be made.

Today we held the one official Children's Bible School. Claire Tobin was our star translator who managed to tell the story of God's love for us all in five minutes. Becka Timms was a master of the teaching moments...and loads of the rest of the team, played and helped the children complete their projects before the rain came. We managed to stay dry until all the work was done for the day
and then the sky opened up and thunder echoed all around us.

Pizza tonight....Spirits are high and we are ready to put the finishing touches on our projects tomorrow. Check out the FB site for Nathan Walters. His pictures from today are amazing again!....

Love to all of you from all of us!

Last day of work in Guatemala 6/28/13

We have had a great completion to our work here in Guatemala.  The house sites were completely finished and each group had a beautiful dedication ceremony.  The medical clinic wrapped up their work and they were also able to tour the completed work sites.  Everyone is very excited about tomorrow's activities.  Most of the team is heading for a volcano hike with guides some distance from here.  They will be gone all morning and return in time to spend their money at the Marcado (Market).  The remainder of the team will be doing a walking tour of Antigua before hitting the market.  It seems like we just got here and we are preparing to leave.  The recipient of the house of Site 3 said to me... "I watched this house go up in 5 days and I still can't believe it."  Our team has been blessed with high spirits and wonderful relationships that will carry forward into the future.  Many of the team members want to be remembered to their families, but they are too numerous to list, so just suffice it to say, we are praying for all of you each day.  Again, I refer you to Nathan Walters' site on Facebook...he takes the best pictures of all!

Message from Renee re progress made on Day 4

The teams made fantastic progress today.  The roofs are on two of the three sites (the third site is nearly finished with the roof), siding is going up and if the weather remains good, we'll be painting soon.  The clinic continues to see a steady flow of patients.  It is really quite wonderful to see how much the teens interact with the locals on the sites.  And the soon-to-become owners are very grateful.  On one site, the grandmother who is watching the house go up for one of her daughters has been a powerful pray-er.  Though the language is a barrier, her heartfelt prayer this morning, deeply moved the entire team.  We continue to pray for all of you as we grow through God's grace.
We had no power for some time upon our return from the worksites due to some malfunction of the electricity within the hotel, but all was repaired before bedtime. Please check out Nathan Walters' site for more pictures...the address is the same.

More pictures from Guatemala

I have not heard from Renee today, but more pictures were posted on the Facebook album.  Here are some of the pictures from the worksites from 6/26/13.   Pictures speak louder than words . . . . .   Keep them all in our prayers as they continue their work as God's hands and feet!
